About PLAC (LP-PLA2) test

What is the PLAC test?

The PLAC test measures the level of lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) in the blood. Lp-PLA2 is an enzyme associated with inflammation of coronary arteries and the development of plaques. Higher levels of Lp-PLA2 indicate a greater risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Why take the test?

The PLAC test measures the level of Lp-PLA2 in the blood and can be used to assess the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
