What is helicobacter pylori?
Helicobacter pylori (also known as Campylobacter pylori) is a type of bacteria which commonly lives in the lining of the stomach. Most people with Helicobacter pylori do not present with any symptoms and it is estimated that 40% of people in the UK have it. In those who do show symptoms, Helicobacter pylori can cause ulcers in the stomach or duodenum, causing severe indigestion.
