About Giardia serology
What is giardiasis?
Giardiasis is one of the most common causes of parasitic gastrointestinal disease, caused by infection with the parasite Giardia lamblia. The parasite is typically ingested from contaminated wild water sources, foods contaminated with infected water or handled by an infected individual. Symptoms of giardiasis include particularly odorous diarrhoea, stomach pain, flatulence and weight loss.
