About Porphyrins screen (blood)

What are porphyrins?

Cutaneous porphyrias affect the skin, leading to a variety of symptoms including; sensitivity, painful redness, blisters, itching and fragile skin. Acute porphyrias affect the central nervous system, producing symptoms including; severe abdominal pain, muscle pain or tingling, seizures, problems passing stool and others.
