About Malarial parasites
What are malarial parasites?
Malaria is a disease caused by infection with parasites of the genus Plasmodium. The disease is most commonly contracted in areas close to the equator because the climate is conducive to its spread via mosquitos. Through rapid diagnosis and treatment, malaria can usually be cured, however, malaria is believed to be responsible for over 400,000 deaths annually. Symptoms of malaria include fever, vomiting, headaches and tiredness. More severe cases can lead to seizures, yellowing of the skin and coma or death.
