About Leucine amino peptidase

What is leucine aminopeptidase?

Leucine aminopeptidase is an enzyme typically found in the liver. Its primary role is as a housekeeping gene necessary for protein breakdown.

In a healthy individual, there is very little leucine aminopeptidase outside the liver, so measuring the levels in the blood is useful to diagnose liver damage or cancer.

Why take the test?

This test measures the level of leucine aminopeptidase in the blood. It is typically used to diagnose liver damage or cancer.
