What is leptospirosis?
Leptospirosis is the name given to infection with leptospira bacteria. The infection varies in severity, with some infections asymptomatic but others causing headaches, fever, muscle pain or more severely lung bleeds or meningitis. In some cases, the infection can lead to kidney failure, this is referred to as Weil’s disease.

This test measures for an immune response to infection with leptospira. It is used to diagnose leptospirosis.
