About Lactose tolerance test
What is the lactose tolerance test?
Lactose intolerance occurs when the body cannot process lactose properly, leading to intolerance to consumption of lactose in milk Lactose intolerance is more prevalent in some populations than others. In parts of Asia, over 90% of people are lactose intolerant, where the number is closer to 5% in Europe. In individuals with lactose intolerance lactose cannot be processed and instead ferments in the body, potentially leading to flatulence, bloated stomach, stomach cramps, feeling sick and diarrhoea after ingesting lactose.
Why take the test?
