About Globulin
What are globulins?
Globulins are immune proteins produced by the liver and immune system. There are four main types of globulin; alpha-1, alpha-2, beta and gamma (which includes antibodies). They play a role in a variety of processes including blood clotting, liver function and immune response to pathogens. Globulin level changes are associated with infection, liver disease, kidney disease, autoimmune conditions, nutritional deficiencies and cancers.
