What is the crosslaps test?
The crosslaps test measures the C-terminal telopeptide (CTX), a biomarker closely associated with bone resorption. Bone resorption is a part of the normal bone remodelling process which is constantly active during our lifetime. Abnormal bone resorption can cause a number of diseases such as osteoporosis.
Why take the test?
This test is used to monitor bone resorption using the CTX biomarker. It is typically used to monitor changes in bone resorption, particularly in individuals taking antiresorptive therapies.
