What are acetylcholine receptor antibodies?

Acetylcholine receptor autoantibodies are proteins which reduce the communication between muscles and nerves. These autoantibodies not found in healthy people but are produced by the immune system of myasthenia gravis sufferers.

Myasthenia gravis an autoimmune condition since the immune system mistakenly attacks itself. Symptoms include drooping eyelids, blurred vision, impaired speech and weakness in fingers, arms and legs.
